yon koma manga

music & books & photos & stuff & melancholy

i took inspiration from a CD cover. the above image is, of course, the final one, i am going to use. it looks also good in b&w.color added with photoshoppy.

i need a lightbox btw.

freak out!

baba, tschüssi berlin!

i will go to japan in september. this is a drawing of myself, exhausted, in tokyo when i was 17. i drew it from a photo my friend, whom i met there, took. he was the “singer” in a hardcore band and we had lots of strange fun. he introduced me into japanese noodle soups, pachinko and showed me around harajuku and shimokitazawa (places full of interesting people & shops etc). once, we had some kind of a date, where we took a little swan boat to go to a small island in the middle of lake suwa (somewhere in nagano-country). we found on the island a huge phallus shrine made of stone. of course it´s a symbol of fertility, so maybe this should encourage you to multiply, but honestly, who wants to kiss in front of a penis as large yourself? one of my most romantic stories i guess.

i am looking forward.

Thomas Bernhard

how could it be that i haven´t heard shugo tokumaru´s music before?

go here to read one of my older comic stories. reading it today once again, i am quite satisfied with it.

spend an afternoon with susi

i made a mix-mp3 with some pieces i like to listen lately/always. go here to listen to it, or right click and choose “save target as” (ziel speichern unter) for downloading.

the sound-journey will take you from ass-fucking with megapuss (A Gun on His Hip and A Rose on His Chest) to american “low-riding-folk-rock” by david vandervelde (learn how to hang loose). That one makes me wanna watch Dazed & Confused for the 10th time in two months again! It´s actually not that a great movie, so let´s just cross the ocean and roll in scottish happy-sad melancholy with Belle & Sebastian (Seymour Stein), then take the military jets to tokyo and visit Shiina Ringo (Fukou Jiman - Unhappiness Pride) who is obviously too cool for you, so you immediatly go back to comfort with weirdo-buddies xiuxiu & devendra banhart (body breaks). Then, somehow, i thought, why not comforting melodies? So the really long the morning benders song (excuses) was inserted. yesterday it was in my head all day long. i hope today i can escape it. therefore the antidote comes with mirah´s creepy-sweet-song (dreamboat). i had found this song two years ago on some blog and after exchanging my antique windows-laptop for a superhero computer called imac (it´s like r2d2 but needs less space and can´t move… yet… ha!) i couldn´t find it anymore!!! so i bought it. three days ago i found it on my ipod data space. well. it´s good i bought it. for mirah. she´s certainly needing some money. (as we all do!)
ok, coffee break with dum dum girls (jail la la). girls rock. that´s all. another weird sound comes along with megapuss (again?! yes, again.) (duck people duckman), a interesting song which introduces duckpeople, who like hummus and vitamin c. i think in a wider meaning, it´s a song about stereotypes people have. about ducks. then to creep you even more out, comes the soothing melody from the science of sleep soundtrack (if you rescue me). if i remember correctly this has a very nice video, but well, the movie was made by michel gondry. i got a two week long depression after watching the movie. it was too intense for me. Have you seen it? It´s great.
slowly coming to an end, some girl poprock song by japanese duo Puffy (yume no tame ni - for your dreams) who are not as crazy as they seem. and i wanted to stay on the japanese side and inserted CMYK (yume no naka e - into your dreams), 8-bit dream come true. i usually don´t listen to 8-bit music, but it´s cool for once.

i know, it´s not the best mix, and i guess you all are listening to much better music, but maybe you find something you like. mixed with adobe soundbooth. and of course: buy music! buy real discs!

i like my coffee in the morning, after lunch, in the afternoon for tea & cookies and in the evening for exciting dreams.

between the coffee breaks, i draw stuff. when it gets dark my odd friends come by. they are not helpful at all, drunken and mad as they always are!

and lately i am drawing almost nothing. but i like to use this (for myself) new technique, where i draw with pencil, then ecoline watercolor and finish with color pencils. it´s a lot of work, time consuming and i don´t know if i really like the results.

hmmm…do i?

oh!! please visit the wonderful blog by wonderful máni!! she “featured” some of my brooches with cool photographs there. she always takes beautiful photographs of her surroundings in Berlin.

Don´t wanna sound like a teenage fangirl, but, I think the frontman from the morning benders is really pretty.

Hirama Mikio: Ware ha iku. I just bought his album via itunes (to buy overseas music you wouldn´t get here for a decent price, perfect.) He is just so cool.

Music video for grizzly bear´s ready, able from their veckatimest album. A friend sent it to me recently, and i just love it!! crazy animation, really awesome, and then the lovely music…
